NYCOSEAL for Rotomolded Parts

Rotational molding requires specialized polymers for certain applications, and NYCOA is proud to offer several engineered nylon materials for this specific segment of rotational molding that requires Nylon’s toughness of finished parts, but also flowability of powdered resins to allow molds to be made consistently and effectively. In particular, NYCOA has developed the NYCOSEAL product family for the manufacture of various fluid storage tanks.

Nylon materials provide excellent chemical resistance, high-temperature resistance, and low fuel permeation, making them suitable for various fluid storage tanks. NYCOA nylon grades deliver  enhanced performance compared to competitive materials like polyethylene (PE) with  improved resistance to engine fluids, greases, and oils and a higher heat deflection temperature (HDT) of 185°C @ 66 psi.

NYCOA’s NYCOSEAL Roto-Nylon grades can be used in monolayer construction or dual-layer construction with PEX and PE.

NYCOSEAL 1700 is a highly specialized grade which is targeted for applications that require secondary operations such as decorative painting and labeling. It exhibits less hazing and delivers improved part aesthetics.

NYCOSEAL 1702 is a high-flow and high-impact grade which has an ARM drop impact of over 100 ft lb. This grade offer the fastest cycle times of any nylon 6 rotomolding grade available in the market today.

NYCOSEAL 17.164 is a novel grade introduced in 2020 which offers exceptional performance in impact resistance of finished parts. 17.614 was designed for suitable flow for rotomolding applications, and produce parts with exceptional low-temperature impact performance. Regularly featuring an ARM drop impact of over 100 ft lb., even at -40 degrees C. In fact, our first prototypes with 17.164 had such powerful low-temp impact resistance that it broke our dart impact tester!
