NYCOA’s products are suitable for a broad range of applications in the automotive and transportation industry, for instance, under the hood components, fuel system components, transmission parts, braking system and some interior and exterior structural components.

NYCOA products are typically used for weight reduction and cost-savings through metal replacement in the transportation industry. 

Including NYCOSIX and NYCO66 product families (for nylon 6 and nylon 66, respectively), specialty NYCOA nylons in the NYCOADAPT (engineered copolymer), NYCOFILL (filled grades) and NXTamid (long chain nylons including nylon 6.12 and 6.10) have applications for the automotive industry, particularly at the tier 2 and tier 3 distributor level.

Highlights of NYCOA Materials Applicable to Automotive Industry

NYCOSIX Nylon 6 and NYCO66 Nylon 66 reinforced grades are used to manufacture under the hood components, such as engine covers, fan shrouds, radiator components, ECU housings, thermostat housing, etc.

NYCOA High RV Nylon 6 grades are suitable for blow molded hot air ducts and air intake ducts.

NYCOA NXTamid-T Nylon 6.12 and Nylon 6.10 grades are suitable for automotive fuel line applications, air brake lines, clutch tubing, windshield washer tubing, etc.

NYCOA Nylon 6 and Nylon 66 reinforced grades are also suitable for die cast metal replacement application in various automotive interior brackets.
